Mads Mikkelsen replaced Johnny Depp as Grindelwald, the evil wizard in Fantastic Beasts: A Dumbledore Mystery. And during the interview, reporters from the British magazine GQ Hype couldn’t help but ask about the actor’s attitude to the Rowling scandal.

Mikkelsen said that he did not read the posts of either Rowling or her haters at all, and prefers live interaction to Internet communication. However, he declined to comment on the situation.

According to the Danish actor, science should not be turned into an ideology – in any case, you will have to lie, and then it becomes more difficult to figure out your attitude to the event. And, of course, it is worth abandoning the rhetoric of hatred towards women and trans people. And most importantly, always know what you are going to talk about.

“People talk about all this somehow casually, they say, “this is a shame, right?” And every time you try to ask someone about what happened, you can’t understand what he even said. But since the reaction is so strong, then we should be very careful and always know what we are talking about, ”Mads Mikkelsen described his attitude.
