Scratch Bätzner broadens contract with KV Oostende until 2024
KV Oostende has extended the contract of German midfielder Nick Bätzner for one season, until June 30, 2024. KVO reported this on Monday. The 22-year-old Bätzner came to the coastal team from Stuttgart in the summer of 2020. Since then, Bätzner has made 58 appearances for KVO, scoring four goals and seven assists. This season, he missed just four league games with his team. Last weekend, Ostend won its last game of the season 0-2 at AS Eupen thanks to goals from Ambrose and Albanese. Yves Vanderhaeghe’s team, twelfth after the regular phase, will not participate in the play-offs.
Will Gómez be fit for the cup final?
Put a damper on the festivities. After curling a free kick just wide in the slot, Sergio Gómez immediately lay down and asked for a substitution. He gave Kompany another hug with a painful grimace. “Before the race, Sergio already had problems with his adductors”, Wesley Hoedt said afterwards. Kompany later denied that it was an adductor injury. Although both the RSCA coach and Hoedt sounded the same: with a view to the cup final (18/04), it is praying that it is not a serious injury. “I don’t believe it’s really awful, however I actually need to converse with Sergio,” said Kompany. “In any case, overload is not abnormal in his case. Sergio has already played a lot of matches this season, both with us and for the Spanish national team.” So the message is to wait. In addition to Gómez, Anderlecht also hope to recover the injured Ashimeru and Verschaeren for the cup final. (SVL)
